Kansas does not usually receive snow this early in the season. Once or twice, it will snow about two inches and cycle from dirty slush to ice over a couple of days before it melts away. My parents sent me pictures of the early snowfall this year which is still around a week later. The above picture is of my the dog, Buster, probably searching for a path from the breezeway door to the perfect spot to pee. My parents took all the pictures as thankfully I was in a much warmer climate.
